Access denied on new folders

It started from extracting from WinRAR, extracted folders started giving access denied message.
first i thought its some problem with WinRAR, but later cut paste or moving a folder position also started giving access denied message sometimes.
folder access denied
folder couldnt be deleted, moved, accessed so was pretty annoying
So here is a little howto for removing access denied message and accessing folder again

enable advance sharing

Enable advance folder sharing by going to My Computer -> Tools -> Folder Options -> View -> [Uncheck] Use Simple File Sharing

folder properties advance secutiry
adding your username

Goto folder properties then, and add your username to give permissions

goto advance sharing
add username in advance
set full control

if add is disabled you need to set owner first (see owner tab in advance properties) and set full control

windows username

Thats your username

give full control

Give full control and press OK

folder accessed

Folder can be accessed now

Hi, thanks so much for this tutorial. I have had a folder on my desktop for 2 years and have not been able to delete it with unlocker, other programs and directions from microsoft. I found your blog through google and I appreciate your post!
